Using Windows 8 Pro 64bit via VirtualBox on MacBook Air (OSX Mountain Lion)

I’ve been using Windows since year 1999 – I guest. At that time, Windows 3.0 is really cool!

Now, Windows 8 is approaching for official launching. But, when I browse the UM’s DreamSpark a few days ago, I saw Windows 8 is available – and of course it’s MYR 0.00 (aka FREE for UM student).

I just want to try how different Windows 8. The process begin – and I’m using VirtualBox instead messing my current netbook. But, since it’s virtual – why not install it in OSX Mountain Lion instead!


Yup, installed it already.

I don’t want to show step by step of the installation process here because most of the geek out there already know the procedure. So I just jump straight to the Windows 8.


New Start Screen – Metro Style!

This metro style is for tablet. Since I’m using MacBook Air, I just click Desktop.


New Desktop – Start menu is on the left. Just move your mouse to the right upper/lower screen and the start menu will appear.

One thing to note here is that the size of the installation for this Windows 8 Pro is almost 10GB in size!


3.98GB remaining from 15GB allocated for my VirtualBox machine!

Another important thing is that you better update your windows because Microsoft already release an update for Windows 8!


200MB of updates that you need to download and install.

Still not convincing that I already have Windows 8 Professional 64bit edition?

Now, I have multiple version of windows in my VirtualBox.

      ni font droid sans.. android nyer font. ko boleh tengok kat sini. ada banyak lagi.

        mac ni ok, tapi ada tang program yang mesti kena guna windows tu yang nak kena ada jugak. tu pasal kena guna virtualbox ni..
